we use silk

Silk is renowned for its unparalleled elegance and health benefits.
Not only is this delicate fabric incredibly soft and luxurious to the touch, but it also offers numerous advantages for your well-being.

Its natural properties help regulate body temperature, retain moisture, are anti-microbial and hypoallergenic, making it an ideal choice for sensitive skin.

Another benefit that comes with silk is its biodegradability.
It naturally decomposes and returns to the environment without leaving harmful residues like synthetic fabrics do.

All our pieces are made from OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified silk.

Silk is measured primarily in momme.
Momme is a traditional Japanese unit of weight, used specifically for silk. It is abbreviated as „mm“.
One momme is approximately equal to 4.34 grams per square meter of silk. Higher momme numbers indicate heavier and more resistant silk fabrics.

OUR SILK FABRICS

Silk Chiffon (6-8mm) Chiffon is known for its sheer quality, giving it an ethereal and delicate appearance. The fabric has a buttery soft and smooth texture, which feels luxurious against the skin.
It is woven using a plain weave technique, where the horizontal threads are interlaced with the vertical threads in a simple, alternating pattern.
The plain weave creates the balanced and smooth surface, but the silk fibers themselves contribute to the fabric’s delicate, airy quality, making it ideal for creating flowing, airy garments.

Silk Georgette (10-12mm) Georgette is a lightweight and slightly sheer silk fabric, though less so than chiffon. It has a matte surface with a slightly crinkled texture, which gives it a grainy yet soft touch and feel.
Georgette is woven with a crepe weave, which involves tightly twisting the fine silk threads. This results in a fabric with a bit more structure and resilience compared to the smoother, more fluid texture of chiffon.

Silk Satin (16-22mm) Satin is renowned for its high-gloss surface that reflects light beautifully. The fabric is exceptionally smooth and soft to the touch, providing a lightweight feel.
The satin weave is characterized by long floats of horizontal or vertical threads, which create fewer interlacing and result in the fabric’s signature smooth, glossy surface.
The fabric drapes beautifully, making it a perfect choice for garments that require a soft, flowing silhouette.
